10. The Odyssey by Homer

I never had to read this in school, and I've always wanted to, I just never got around to it.

9. War and Peace by Leo Tolstoy

I've never had any desire to read this one, even though it seems to be one of the most referenced books.











8. The Old Man and the Sea by Ernest Hemingway

In school I was forced to read A Farewell to Arms instead of this one, I hated Hemingway's writing style so much that I will never ever read another one of his books, even his most famous.

7. Moby Dick by Herman Melville

I kind of want to read this one, it sounds like it could be really interesting.  Yes, I said it, it sounds interesting.  I'm from Connecticut, so whaling is part of our history, and I find it fascinating, so a book that goes unnecessarily in depth about it?  Sign me up.  I'll just need a large chunk of time to get through it...

6. A Christmas Carol by Charles Dickens

I know this story very well, but I've never read the book.  I actually haven't ready any of Dicken's books, and I really want to.  One day, when I have the time and the patience I will.

5. The Scarlet Letter by Nathaniel Hawthorne

I was assigned this book in 11th grade to read.  I read the first half of the first chapter and went "nope!" It was the only book I actually used spark notes to get through.  And even those were tedious to look at.  I will proudly never read this book, it's quite awful.

4.  The Bell Jar by Sylvia Plath

I don't even know what this one is about.  My friends had to read it either in the AP English class or in college, but I never had to.  I know of it only because they talked about it so much, I guess it's supposed to be good?  I don't know, I don't really have any intention of reading it either.

3.  Catch-22  by Joseph Heller

My friends in high school who had the other English teacher in high school had to read this, and I really really wish it was on my curriculum.  I haven't gotten around to reading it yet, but I will, one day.

2.  Ender's Game by Orson Scott Card

I have this book, it's sitting there for me to read, I have a physical copy and a kindle copy, just because I want to read it so much.  But somehow it keeps getting pushed to the bottom of my TBR pile/list.  I'll read it, eventually.
